Children's First Aid Courses & Demonstrations
First Aid Demonstrations is conducted by Laura Mulcahy; a Paediatric (and Adult) Emergency Nurse in Queensland, Sydney and Melbourne.
In a 2 - 2.5 hour session you will learn CPR, how to manage a choking child and how to initate first aid to a child while waiting for an ambulance.
80% of childhood injuries occur in the home. Laura will talk about the most common causes of injury in the home and give tips on how to prevent them.
From working in a major Children's Emergency Department Laura can advise on the continued care your child will receive if admitted to the Emergency Department.
Prices start at $60 per person. Handouts and information sheets provided.
Laura conducts private Paediatric First Aid Courses in your home or mothers group and regular workshops at Kidsafe House Brisbane, Playgroup Queensland or Baby 'N' Things, Mount Gravatt.
Private courses are available in Sydney also.
Fundraising opportunities available for Child Care Centres, Kindergartens and Schools.
Certificate of Attainment available for CPR. This is an accreditated course separate to the Paediatric Course. It takes approximately 2hrs as workbooks are completed and participants assessed on CPR - we can update you on new CPR techniques each year - contact Laura for more information.
